Rain Rain, go away, come again another day. Because another RAEN has come to play.

RAEN sunnies are essentials for Sunday Funday at the W Hotel San Diego. Summer is here and it’s the perfect time to scope out summer gear for the beautiful San Diego sunshine! I couldn’t wait to check out RAEN Optics at the rooftop of W Hotel San Diego last Sunday for the Summer Solstice Soiree.

Even though sunglasses aren’t typically something I shop for, (since they don’t have much to do with the panza), a tanchi still needs her décor! When shopping for sunnies, style is must, but I love them for their safety functionality too! Imagine driving without them – the blindness is just asking for trouble…especially post-Solstice!

For the event, I wore my summer gear, Dolce Vita tan leather wedges with a black Billabong one shoulder dress, topped with a pink puka shell necklace from El Salvador. The dress is great as it gives my panza a little breathing room for the wonderful buffet and cocktails.

The first pair I tried on were these retroish pair of sunnies, the Kiernan.

Bianca of the InBetweenGirls here is wearing the Pogue pair– such a statement sunnie and my favorite of the collection.

The line of sunnies are made from local San Diego designers in Oceanside – so Socal in so many ways. I would love to rock any pair for a SoCal pool party! Their designs are spectacular with their great frame shapes, but what’s even more great about RAENs is their comfort. it’s surprising because I have always shopped for glasses primarily on how they look with my face shape. But with RAENs – because the comfort is that great – you can’t help but notice just how great they sit on your ears and nose. The sunnies are craftsmanship – made by hand with materials that make the RAENs a great addition to summer gear.

San Diego Style Blogger’s Bree from Luv & Mojo by BBHY and Fashion Mixtape also attended the event. She’s looking fab in summer gear with a maxi skirt and colorful dress. It’s always great fun to get together with the bloggers at the unofficial headquarters at the W. The W Hotel partners with the arts and fashion community and it’s no wonder we feel right at home.

Although their summer collection was not on display at the event, I did pick out a wonderful rager sunnie from the look book. Meet the Sylas, perfect for San Diego’s sunshine.

Can’t wait for my next visit to the rooftop and to be on the lookout for more RAEN styles. I’m ready for the hours of sunshine from the Solstice and this RAEN better not go away. These local designers have given personality to sunnies perfect for Socal livin!

Summer is here Tanchis!
